How does your background in hospitality relate to your daily job responsibilities?
I manage people and ensure great experiences with our guests. 90% of what I do is people related. Hospitality is paramount when dealing with employees, guests and vendors. I want everyone to be satisfied with the locations I manage. My entire adult life was about restaurants, and I’ve learned how to inspire and lead various people from all walks of life to have successful and rewarding experiences in restaurants. For our guests, I encourage employees to think outside the box at exceeding the experience of each guest. Both anticipating and exceeding expectations by offering special and personalized touches is what makes our restaurant group so successful.
Describe how your JWU experience prepared you for success.
I really enjoyed my time at JWU. It was a time to make new friends and come in contact with some of the best industry professionals who really knew about restaurants and hotels. They taught me through their own experiences which gave me a great advantage to be successful. I love my job and the people I come in contact with. It’s rewarding and different each day.
What advice would you give to someone who is looking to pursue a career in the hospitality/food service industry?
Be relentless with guest enjoyment and employee satisfaction, and serve the absolute best food and beverages possible. Once these things happen, everything else falls in line.
