Family Members
At JWU, we are proud and honored to help eligible military family members achieve their higher education goals. As a full participant and supporter of the GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program, we can help you identify and access the military benefits available to you and your family.
JWU will work with you to utilize your family’s Military Educational Benefits and to provide other financial assistance to minimize your out-of-pocket expenses. JWU is approved by all branches of the military and the VA for payment of benefits.
One of the main elements of the Post 9/11 GI® Bill is the ability for the service member to transfer all or a portion of their education entitlement to their eligible dependents, spouses and or dependent children. It is the Department of Defense (DoD) that determines whether or not benefits can be transferred. If the transfer of benefits is approved, the new beneficiaries apply for them through the VA.
For specific information about the transferability option of the Post 9/11 GI Bill®, please visit the GI Bill® website.
To find out more about what the service member must do in order to transfer their benefits, please visit the DoDs website.
The GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government website at Benefits.va.gov/gibill.
