Associate Professor

Jennifer Broderick joined the Johnson & Wales faculty in 2012, after a 36-year management career. She is a full-time professor in the College of Culinary Arts at JWU’s Providence Campus; since 2018, she has also been teaching in the online graduate program.

As a faculty member for the past seven years, Dr. Broderick has become well acquainted with the nature of the higher education organization. Her extensive experience in college-level teaching, curriculum development, and various instructional delivery formats spans undergraduate and graduate divisions at JWU. Additionally, Dr. Broderick has assumed numerous leadership positions at the University, including Vice-Chair of the University Committee on Academic Rank, Vice-Chair of the College of Culinary Arts Outcomes Assessment Committee, voting member of the College of Culinary Arts Curriculum Committee, Chairperson of the Beverage & Dining Service Curriculum Development Team, and the Cross-Campus Curriculum Development Team Lead for the semester course curriculum to be delivered on all four JWU campuses. She has participated on the JWU Faculty Scholarship Showcase Review Committee, and has most recently been appointed as the incoming department chair for Beverage & Dining Service in the College of Culinary Arts. As a result of working in these roles, Dr. Broderick understands the need for effective and experienced university leadership and is positioned to teach in the Ed.D. in Higher Education, a program that is designed to equip higher education professionals to advance in their fields.

Dr. Broderick is very well-versed in the nuances of the APA format. In 2017, she launched an editing business, mainly focused on APA formatting and editing of dissertations for doctoral students. Her own dissertation used a multiphase mixed methods design. Available from ProQuest, it is titled: “Flipped Classrooms as an Experiential Learning Strategy: How Do Faculty Adapt to Teaching with Instructional Technology?” She is currently conducting research on international wine educators.
