Johnson & Wales University (JWU) and Disney Aspire, the Walt Disney Company’s education investment and career development program for hourly employees across the U.S., have partnered to offer a 100% online culinary certificate. JWU’s College of Professional Studies is the only accredited institution in the United States offering 100% online culinary programming. We are excited to offer Disney employees the opportunity to learn and enhance their culinary arts skills through an immersive and unique online curriculum.
“As we celebrate 50 years of culinary excellence at Johnson & Wales, we honor our foundation in tradition while looking ahead to constantly evolve to meet today’s changing world,” said Jason Evans, Ph.D., dean of the College of Food Innovation and Technology. “Our world-class chefs create their curriculum with our fast-paced industry in mind, truly setting our students up for success in the real world.”
With more than 600 food and beverage locations across domestic Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, our programming will allow Disney employees to grow in their careers within Disney’s various dining services. In addition, Disney Aspire covers 100% of the upfront tuition costs and reimbursements for required books and fees — allowing students to focus on their studies and future careers.
“Much like Disney, Johnson & Wales is committed to being cutting-edge, staying on top of trends, and ensuring what their students learn today are things they can put into practice tomorrow,” said Chris Trout, vice president of learning and development at The Walt Disney Company. “Their dedication to being innovative global leaders in the culinary space is the exact sort of momentum we need to help inspire culinary career mobility at our company.”
As a leader in experiential education with world-renowned programs in food service, hospitality, and culinary arts, we welcome the opportunity to provide Disney employees with a flexible and career-focused education.
