Through the JWU College of Online Education, you can earn your degree from anywhere—including internationally. Johnson & Wales University is recognized around the globe as a leader in exceptional experiential education. That means that our students are not only learning, they are doing. Please note: All classes in the JWU College of Online Education are taken 100 percent online. Online students are not eligible for a student visa. Learn more about on-campus international admissions if you are looking for an on-campus experience along with the student visa application. 


The Johnson & Wales University College of Online Education offers undergraduate degree programs in business, hospitality, psychology, technology, and more—all 100 percent online.

After your application is received, you will work with an Online Admissions Associate to submit the following documents:

  • High School Transcripts
  • High School Completion Exam Results (if applicable)
  • Postsecondary Transcripts (if applicable)
  • Current Résumé/CV

Please note: 

  • All documents must be submitted in the original language.
  • All documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by a certified line-by-line English translation.
  • All transcripts must come directly from the institution or credential evaluation agency. All documents submitted for review must be official, that is, they must be either originals or copies certified by the examining board. A "certified" copy is one that bears an original signature of the registrar or other designated school official, an original impression of the institution's seal, or signature/seal of the examining board. Uncertified or notarized copies will not be accepted.
  • Regardless of citizenship, if the only school you attended was an international institution, we will be reviewing your transcripts through the international credentials evaluation process.

Online Programs 2018 – 2019

Undergraduate 

Per 1.0 credit  $330 ($1,485 per course)

Graduate 

Per 1.0 credit  $742 ($2,225 per 3.0 semester credit course)*

Doctoral

Per 1.0 credit  $850 ($2,550 per 3.0 semester credit course)*

* With the start of the 2018–2019 academic year, JWU will begin offering all graduate degree programs, except for the master’s level education programs, on a semester calendar. Please see Online Student Semester Change FAQ for more information.

As a student in the JWU College of Online Education, am I eligible for a visa?

No, online students are not eligible for a student visa. Learn more about on-campus international admissions if you are looking for an on-campus experience along with the student visa application. 

What are the English proficiency requirements?

You can view the University's requirements here. 

Can I transfer to JWU from another University?

Yes. Approximately 28% of JWU’s new international students transfer from postsecondary schools around the world. Many of these schools have formal credit transfer agreements with JWU. Students should submit mark sheets, grades and transcripts to Admissions to find out how many of the credits will transfer. Credit will be awarded for courses completed with a “C” or better (minimum 2.0/4.0) that are similar in level and content to courses at JWU. Scholarships are available to transfer students.
