What is Corp Ed?

Angelo Pitassi, Director of Corporate Relations, describes CorpEd as “the University’s ability to help industries fill the skills gaps for their employees or workforce to have the tools needed for a career trajectory.” JWU’s flexible online learning environment provides individuals the opportunity to enhance skills they already have or gain brand new ones.

The CorpEd team’s experience with a wide range of industries has allowed them to develop valuable strategies to support each partner. “CorpEd offers a diverse range of education opportunities, which allows us to approach any company as a serious potential partnership,” Devin Kitterick, Business Development Coordinator explains. “Our partnerships range from smaller companies of 50 employees, to companies that have 100,000+ employees. That same range of employee base is also the diverse range of industries we’ve partnered with.” Equipped with the necessary skills, the CorpEd team provides tailored support for each partner, ensuring their needs are met.

Why JWU?

At Johnson & Wales University, we’re passionate about fostering strong communication and relationships with current partners. The CorpEd team prioritizes multiples forms of communication to ensure our partners feel supported. “We work with the company to help them best understand their areas of need, and what best speaks to their business/industry trends. Then we share the direct market trends, statistics, and relevant metrics when it comes to our partnership to showcase the enrollment numbers at CorpEd as a whole or specifically for their team,” notes Kitterick.

With a wide array of program offerings and student services, JWU College of Professional Studies provides people the opportunity to earn their degree in a flexible online format. JWU’s dedicated staff and faculty are committed to ensuring that each student feels supported on their academic journey. “The great thing about JWU is that there’s no strict deadline to complete your degree. Whether it takes a few years or longer, what truly matters is that you’re making progress. Every class you complete brings you one step closer to your goal,” explains Nick Medeiros, Business Development Coordinator.

What is Guild?

Guild is a third-party company that helps establish relationships with potential partners in hopes of employees at companies ranging in size the chance to earn a degree. “Guild creates relationships with companies and organizations, and Guild brings those relationships to the table,” explains Pitassi. “Employees that have gone through the education program are 2.3 times more likely to retain within the company than a group of employees that have not taken advantage of the program.” The partnership with Guild helps build awareness of Johnson & Wales University to potential partners, allowing for a smooth transition for fostering connections. Guild has helped numerous students continue their education, including Dr. Ajay Patel, a General and Vascular Surgeon, who decided to return to school and enroll at JWU College of Professional Studies to earn a Master of Business Administration — Finance degree.

“When I found out that my employer, AdventHealth, would financially support me to complete this MBA program through their partnership with Guild Education, I felt compelled to take the leap and do this program.” ~ Dr. Ajay Patel
