And the good news is: if this is how you feel, you don’t need to suffer! Here are five tips for beating college senioritis and pushing through your final term of academics.
As an online student, you are often balancing work, family obligations, health and fitness, and your school work every week. Trying to make all of this fit in your schedule can be incredibly stressful, as I discovered during the four years that I was an online doctoral student at Northeastern University. I graduated with my Ed.D. in 2015, but as I reflect back on my online education experience, I am always struck by how stressed I sometimes felt and often wonder how I got through the program successfully.

Maria Schwartz, ’19, knows a thing or two about hard work and dedication. A former baking and pastry student at the Johnson & Wales University campus in North Miami, Florida, Schwartz is now in the process of completing her BSBA – Operations & Supply Chain Management degree online through JWU.
This summer I took my first ever online class at Johnson & Wales. I am currently a full-time student at the Johnson & Wales University Providence Campus but wanted to continue my education and earn some extra credits over the summer. I was accepted to an internship program based in Jerusalem and chose to take an additional class while I was away. While looking through the online options, I stumbled upon a free elective called “Culture and Food” and figured that there was no better class to take while I was exploring abroad.
Each May, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in downtown Providence hosts the Johnson & Wales University commencement ceremonies. The graduates are the focus of the celebration; however, for Kara Morissette ’18, who earned her BS – Liberal Studies from the Johnson & Wales College of Online Education, this day was just as much for her friends and family, especially her two young children, who were in the crowd watching her walk.
