Corporate Education: A Smart Move

June 28th, 2019
by Angelo Pitassi

The trend is clear: Companies are invested in their employees’ reaching the next level of education … in more ways that one. Not only have big-name brands like Disney, Starbucks, and Walmart announced programs to help their workforce earn degrees, $772 billion dollars is spent towards the effort in the U.S. each year.

The value of a college degree, then, is also clear.

Here are five compelling reasons why employers should consider partnering with JWU through a corporate education program.

1. It's a way to engage (and maintain) your workforce.

Creating a workplace culture that provides people an opportunity to perform at their very best every day is challenging. Certainly, there various ways to develop a culture like this within your organization, and one is to offer an education benefit that assists your employees who are interested in starting, completing, or advancing their education.

2. You get a tuition benefit.

One of the most impactful things an education partnership can provide is a reduced cost on tuition for your employees. An education partnership at JWU can provide employees with up to a 20% partner scholarship that reduces their tuition costs immediately upon enrolling in their first course. Whether your company has a tuition reimbursement program or not, the immediate partner scholarship JWU provides will help employees save money while completing their education. It is a true benefit.

3. You can customize partnerships to best benefit your employees.

JWU offers over 80 programs which means that there are a number of opportunities for employees to complete an education that will add value to your company’s business operations. Our faculty are industry experts with years of professional experience, and this is extremely helpful when an organization wants to create a cohort of employees to complete our programs or if the organization has specific training needs. JWU can assist an organization in achieving their workforce development goals.

4. Learn anywhere, anytime.

Today our lives are busier than ever with balancing family, work, and any other extracurricular activities we do. Now, add to that going back to school! JWU’s convenient online programs make that balancing act more of a reality. Our multiple start dates, the ability to attend continuing education or graduate programs on campus, and rigorous yet flexible online format allow employees to learn while maintaining their personal and professional schedules. More important, employees do not have to do this alone! Each student will have a dedicated JWU online academic advisor to ensure they stay on track and achieve their educational goals.

5. We didn’t just start helping to develop workforces for the future.

To start, JWU provides a reputable education as an accredited institution with more than a 100-year history. Johnson & Wales University was founded as a business school in 1914 in Providence, Rhode Island, by Gertrude I. Johnson and Mary T. Wales. The mission hasn’t changed since 1914:”  . . to provide an exceptional education that inspires professional success and lifelong personal and intellectual growth.” What has changed is the university’s ability to deliver that education, anywhere and anytime. JWU has always had strong ties to the business community since its inception. This provides a strong foundation on which your organization can strengthen its workforce through developing engaged and motivated employees.
