Larry Hughes came to higher education after a 15-year career in the industry. His last position was as a human resources officer for a software development firm.
After earning an MBA and a Ph.D., he taught management, leadership, finance, and research at the undergraduate and graduate levels for 18 years. He has also served as an accreditation director, a college dean, and an interim stint as a vice president of academic affairs.
Hughes has supervised over 100 doctoral dissertations and has published 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, the Leadership and Organization Development Journal, Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management, the Journal of Business and Leadership, the Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management, and the Journal of Organization and Leadership Studies. He has also presented over 50 presentations at academic conferences including the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
