“Everyone thinks that the only thing you can do with the criminal justice degree is get involved in law enforcement and be a police officer,” JWU Professor Paul Sylvestre said. But in fact, a degree in criminal justice will prepare graduates for a wide array of career opportunities ranging from law enforcement to court advocate to private security.
“Private security is a growing industry right now”, Sylvestre says. “We’re talking about hotel security, loss prevention, and asset protection.”
