August 2023 Update: Johnson & Wales University enjoyed an incredibly fruitful 5-year partnership as the Official Education Partner of TD Garden and the Boston Bruins. This partnership officially ended in June 2023.
Growing List of Corporate Partners Fuels Increased Access to Online Education this Summer
Temperatures aren’t the only thing on the rise this summer. As we head into the warmer season, JWU’s partnership with Guild Education is also heating up. Over the last few months, the partnership—launched in March 2020—has attracted both a growing list of corporate partners and begun enrolling adult learners for the summer and fall terms.
Through the partnership with Guild, the leading education and upskilling company in the country, Johnson & Wales University’s College of Online Education will bring quality and convenient education to employees from our nation’s leading brands including Lowe’s, Waste Management, and Chipotle Mexican Grill. This summer, dozens of employees will pursue online degrees in the areas of business, food and beverage management, and hospitality.
As this adult workforce prepares to return to school, the partnership has garnered attention in the local and national press. Most recently, Chipotle’s announcement of debt-free culinary and hospitality degrees has been featured in Thrillist, QRS Magazine and the Nasdaq blog. Later this year, JWU will collaborate with Chipotle to bring interactive and immersive Associate and Bachelor’s degrees in culinary arts online, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Food Industry Compliance Management. JWU is the first of Guild’s academic partners to offer online culinary education.
Johnson & Wales University has long recognized the importance of online education. Established in 2013, the College of Online Education offers a broad range of online programs which provide increased access and flexibility for students seeking to advance their career goals.
“Our Guild partnership will catalyze a workforce renaissance through the power of a JWU degree,” said Cindy Parker, vice president, Johnson & Wales University College of Professional Studies. “By expanding access to higher education, we’re equipping adult learners with necessary tools to accelerate their careers. We welcome the first cohort of online learners through Guild to Johnson & Wales as they embark on a transformative educational and career experience.”
In addition to Guild, JWU has existing corporate partnerships with a number of national employers, such as Bloomin’ Brands, and is the proud official education partner of the Boston Bruins and TD Garden.
