How is JWUpro different from other training providers?
At JWUpro, we not only leverage not only the JWU brand to design your training program, but also the assortment of the university’s assets to meet your needs, including access to faculty, our network of partners, and facilities. JWUpro can build professional training programs with you, or for you using our very own subject matter experts. We have the resources to provide curriculum, materials, assessments, and program evaluations. We offer custom media, access to the enrollment platform and learning management system, and can assign instructors if necessary.
How do I inquire about a partnership/request a JWUpro training?
You can initiate the partnership and request training by submitting an inquiry form. You will then be invited to attend a discovery meeting to ask clarifying questions and provide key information about yoru needs and desired outcomes. JWUpro will review the entire project process in detail to assure that expectations, goals, and outcomes from both parties are mutually agreed upon and in alignment.
What if I am unsure about the kind of training my organization needs?
JWUpro offers a complimentary training analysis to talk through your organizations concerns or areas of interest. If applicable, we can conduct a thorough needs assessment to get to the root cause of issues and to identify the gaps between the current and desired state of employee performance. If the need and gaps are already understood, then this phase is expedited.
What is the process for partnering with JWUpro for professional training?
JWUpro guides our client partners through the project from start to finish, including all phases involved in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating a training program. It is a very collaborative process with numerous opportunities to share feedback and make adjustments to ensure a high-quality program. Once the program is reviewed and approved by the client partner, we can implement and execute the training by launching a marketing campaign to your employees, opening enrollment, and monitoring the training session. Upon completion, the training program and project is evaluated. JWUpro generates reports, disseminates surveys, and reviews the training results with the client partner to understand outcomes and impact.
How long is the project process?
The length of a project depends on an organization’s level of customization needed. JWUpro has ready-made content to speed up timelines or can create custom content specifically designed for an organization, which has a longer lead time. Most client partners choose a hybrid approach for a semi-custom program. Projects typically take anywhere from 2-6 months. An estimated timeline would be provided in the proposal prior to kicking off a project and signing a training agreement.
What type of credential does the trainee get upon completion of training?
Upon completing professional training, participants will be issued a digital badge. We have partnered with Credly to translate the training outcomes participants have demonstrated into a digital badge, issued and managed through the company’s digital badging platform. The technology Credly uses is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables participants to manage, share, and verify competencies digitally.
What are the benefits of a digital badge?
Digital badges are a visual indicator of an earned accomplishment in a digital portable format that can be saved and shared directly from Credly to various digital touchpoints including social media (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook), embedded in a website, or in your email signature. Digital badges are awarded to support participation, as well as recognize knowledge transfer, identify skill attainment, and document learning abilities and personal attributes. Representing skills as a badge gives participants a way to share their abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted, and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide concrete evidence of what participants had to do to earn a credential and what they are now capable of.

How does online professional training work?
Through Genius, you can view the JWUpro training catalog and purchase content directly with the shopping cart feature, which then connects you to content through uKnow, JWUpro’s online learning management system (Blackboard Ultra).
Through uKnow, you receive training information and materials; review content; submit assignments; ask questions of the instructor and other participants, if applicable; discuss issues; and actively participate from your home, office, or wherever a computer and Internet connection is available.
Although you can participate in self-paced training on your own time, we provide a suggested weekly schedule that allows you to pace yourself and complete content and activities in a reasonable amount of time to stay on track. Keep in mind that each module is sequential so you must go through the session in the specified order. As you complete the module (view the video, submit the assignment, contribute to the discussion, etc.), the next module will become available.
For instructor-led content, you must stick to the training schedule provided and complete activity, assignment, exam, and participation requirements according to their deadlines.
On-demand courses and collections offer the most flexibility and can be completed 100% on your time when, where, and how you prefer.
What is uKnow?
uKnow is JWUpro’s Learning Management System (LMS), built on the popular Blackboard Ultra platform. In uKnow, you will access training materials for online training and engage in learning activities.
How do I use uKnow?
Many features of uKnow are intuitive to use. Prior to starting your first session, you’ll be able to run through a uKnow orientation that will give you information on features you will use and opportunities to practice using those features. If you need help using uKnow, self-help documentation is available within the training and technical support is available via phone and email.
What are the computer requirements for uKnow?
To fully participate in online training, it is ideal to have access to a desktop or laptop computer. However, a mobile app is available for Apple and Android devices for maximum flexibility on the go.

What if my computer or Internet connection breaks during a training?
Participants are encouraged to have a backup plan in case of a computer breakdown. Participants in all online training are expected to work through technical challenges and meet deadlines, if applicable, accordingly.
What is the timeframe for online training?
JWUpro offers multiple online training programs with various timeframes. Custom Corporate Training follows the schedule agreed upon by the affiliated client partner and will be displayed in the training catalog. Self-paced and instructor-led Online Training is 6 weeks in length. You will receive access to the online training(s) you are registered for three days before the first day of the training date.
On-Demand Training provides instant access to content and is available in 1-hour and 4-hour courses, or 10-hour collections.
Virtual Workshops and Webinars have various timeframes that will be displayed in the training catalog when registration opens.
Do I have to be online at a certain time?
Self-paced programming is completed asynchronously, and you are not required to be online at any given time.
Occasionally with instructor-led programs, an instructor may offer live chat meetings or web conferencing sessions, but you will not be required to attend them.
Blended training programs, as indicated in the training catalog, offer virtual synchronous sessions (typically via Zoom) to compliment the online experience. These sessions facilitate support and encouragement among participants to share experiences, best practices and lessons learned to improve professionally.
COURSEWORK AND GRADING
What is expected of me in online training?
Each program has a Training Outline that details expectations and requirements. Each online training has a variety of activities, assignments, and exams required throughout the according to a schedule and pre-determined training goals.
Unless enrolled in on-demand training, it is important that you stick to the Training Schedule provided as it allows you to pace yourself and complete content and activities in a reasonable amount of time to stay on track. The Training Schedule is especially important for instructor-led training to make sure you and your other participants are engaged in the same content and online discussions at the same time, which leads to a quality online learning experience.
How is online training graded?
Instructor-led training provides a variety of graded assessments such as assignments, exams, discussions, etc. Assessments are turned in online and graded by instructors. Tests are created and delivered online. Fixed answer questions (true/false, multiple-choice questions) are graded automatically, and open-ended questions (essay, long answer) are graded by the instructor. Some training grades participation in discussion forums, blogs, and journals. Collaborative work on group projects may also be graded depending on the design.
Self-paced training provides a variety of self-assessments, peer-reviewed activities, auto-graded true/false, multiple-choice exams, and journals used as a personal reflection tool or touch base to discuss with a friend, colleague, mentor, or manager.
On-demand training provides guided pre-reflection, mid-reflection, and post-reflection exercises to explore what you know, what you want to know, and what you learned.
Virtual Workshops & Webinars are marked complete or incomplete based on attendance/active participation.
How do I obtain grades?
Grades for online training are available for quick reference in uKnow. You can access your official training transcript securely in Genius and print them at your discretion.

When will I receive (how can I accept) my digital badge(s)?
After successfully completing a training, you will receive an email from Credly, giving you access to your newly earned digital badge. Click the Accept button below the badge icon and you will be redirected to the Credly login page. Log in or create your Credly account to claim your digital badge. Once you claim your digital badge, you will have the option to make it viewable to the public or keep it private.
How can I share my digital badge?
Once you have accepted and claimed your digital badge, you will be redirected to the Share Badge screen. From here you can share your digital badge from Credly to your social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) and via email. You can also download the virtual image of your badge, download a free printable version of your badge, or embed your digital badge on a personal website.
How can training and digital badges help job seekers?
Credly offers labor market insights, based on your skills. Labor market insights are pulled from live job requisitions. Based on your skills, you can learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges, and more. Search active job listings and even apply for them with just a few clicks through Credly. Access the labor market insights from your badge details page by clicking on Related Jobs, or by clicking on the skill tags assigned to your badge.
